    Recommended in clinical guidelines from major dermatology associations such as the AAD or EADV.

  • Clinical Evidence

    Rank 2

    Supported by randomized controlled trials or other human clinical studies.

  • Systematic / Narrative Review

    Rank 3

    Discussed across systematic or narrative reviews of the existing literature.

  • Mechanistic Evidence

    Rank 4

    Supported by laboratory, in vitro, or biological pathway studies.

  • Hypothesis / Emerging

    Rank 5

    Early-stage or emerging research; relationships are plausible but not yet established.

  • Popular Claim

    Rank 6

    Common claim in marketing or popular discourse with weak or unclear scientific support.
